View 1 RepliesI need to create a reusable custom control,which is like a form containing a listbox and some fields.The fields can be either textbox or combobox as needed for different applications,which can be selected on the property of the form onwhich page that i am using it,also i needed to specify the number of fields in that property.And also need place 3 buttons below for edit and delete the selected item in the listbox and a button to save.Data will be binded from the database as needed for different applications.
tell me with code how to create it using asp.net server control in C#.
in asp.net how do i create a dynamic image control from code behind?
Dim image1 As Image
image1 = New Image
image1.ID = "image1"
image1.ImageUrl = "uploads/aa.png"
i have to add the control to the web page but how?
I am trying to create an HTML button that can use a C# server side delete function. since I don't know how many results I will have at the page, the control is created dynamically when the end user searches for current Messages: [CODE] CmsContactUsContent += string.Format(" "" + "" + "
View 3 RepliesI populate web form with dynamic list of exams from database. I want user to enter examination marks for each exam. There is list of exam titles and textbox near each title.I create list with repeater control (ViewState is disabled)
class Exam
{
public int Id { get; set;}
public string Title { get; set;}
}
...
// this list is retrieved from database actually
Exam[] Exams = new Exam[]
{
new Exam { Id = 1, Title = "Math"},
new Exam { Id = 2, Title = "History"}

I have several checkbox controls on my web form that are not server controls (runat="server") How can I access these controls form my C# code? Can this be done with document.GetelementById from the server side using C#? Or some other technique?
I am not allowed to make these server controls (runat=server) because of a requirement.
I've the Javascript code to do a confirmation before deletion of some records
function confirmDelete()
{
if(confirm('Delete all?'))
{
return true;
}
else
{
return false;
}
}
I've the button code here
<asp:Button ID="btnDelete" runat="server" onClientClick="return confirmDelete();" onClick="btnDelete_click" />
If i've the button outside an update panel (basically i'm using RadAjaxPanel by Telerik) it is working fine. But when the button is inside an ajax panel, even if i click OK for deleting the records the server side code is not called.
I am trying to create an HTML button that can use a C# server side delete function. since I don't know how many results I will have at the page, the control is created dynamically when the end user searches for current Messages:
CmsContactUsContent += string.Format("
"<input type='image' value='delete' id='del{8}' runat='server' onClick='DeleteItem' img src='/MaromyDotNet/img/AdminIcons/note.png' style='width:16px;'/>" +
"</div>" +
"<div style='clear:both'></div></div>", message.ContactMessageId);
There is a Class called ContactMessage and I'd like at each iteraion to allow the user to delete the current message through this function:
public void DeleteItem(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
int idToDelete = 41;
BLLContactMessage.deleteMessageById(idToDelete);
}
However, the event does not fire.
have this piece of code which paint an ImageButton and show a dynamic ModalPopupExtender (with 2 buttons btnGuardar and btCancel).
The issue is neither btGuardar.Click nor btHidden.Click events are raised but ImageButton Click event is raised correctly.

I have to access my html control and get its value from my server-side code. Is there anybody who could suggest how I could do it?
My html control is very simple: <input type=text>
But the thing is: I can't make it <input type=text runat=server> cause in this case my jquery functionality (datepicker) does not work.
I am using two user controls in my page. The controls are loaded dynamically one at a time. I'm just referencing the user controls in the page and loading them dynamically using 'LoadControl()'. Everything is working fine till now and the user can switch the controls one another.
Here the issue I found is eventhough the controls are working as expected and the data is visible, the rendered HTML contains only the first loaded user control's markup.
Even if the current control displayed is 'usercontrol2', the source shows 'usercontrol1' markup. How can I force the page to render 'usercontrol2' markup and remove 'usercontrol1' markup while loading'usercontrol2'?
I have created dynamic control with both server and client side events.. if i set client side event server side event is not firing.. I have created the link button which will validate and do some necessary actions.. Validation is working but click event of link button is not firing .. if we remove the client side event , server side event is firing.. how to avoid this.. I want both events..

<input type="text" name="txt" />
<%--Pleas note I don't want put runat=server here to get the control in code behind--%>
<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" OnClick="Button1_Click" />
Code behind
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (!Page.IsPostBack)
{
//If I want to initlize some value in input, how can I set here
}
}
protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Request["txt"] // Here I am getting the value of input
}
how to make a control that can have controls nested inside it. I've made a jQuery tab browser class which uses a hidden field to remember which tab is selected and create the relevant client script to re-select it on postback...it works fine...
This is for web part development so all controls are created dynamically.
The problem is when I add a control to one of the tabs, the values set in that control disappear on postback..I understand there is a lot of information about user controls, viewstate and control state but nothing seems to give me access to those values...
I've boiled it right down to the basics and still can't get it to work unless the custom control has all its controls added in OnInit...which is bad news for me because I need to instantiate the browser, the use a 'AddTab' method to add tabs and controls to them, which occurs after the OnInit event and therefore I can't access the postback values!!
I get the feeling I'm missing something big here, I must be lol...here's is an example:
[Code]....
These controls have to be dynamically created, so I didn't see the need to make the ascx user controls..
I'm using CRv9 and want to make use of Google Charts API for generating QR code on fly (in asp .net) and display it in the Crystal Report in a PDF format.I have spent the whole day looking for solution with no luck. The way we output the report is we use .rpt file, feed it with data and use Response.OutputStream to feed to browser. No CrystalReportViewer control hence CSS solution is not an option.
Now, I got as far as added an OLE Object from file with Link, which I would be overwriting every time the new QR code is generated. I apreciate that CR requires it to be a bitmap, so I was planning to download and convert the google's generated PNG file to BMP, that's not an issue. The problem is that Image in the report does not update after I replace the file. Meaning, it displays the original image, which was added as an OLE Object.
If I open this report in CR designer, the image gets refresh/updated and I'd have to save changes to the report to see this new image next time I generate a PDF file.The question is really how to achieve a dynamic image in Crystal Reports 9? Remember, Picture object did not have a Graphic Location property until vXI, so I cannot use that.
Manipulations with DataSets is not an option either as we're not giving report a datasource, instead we just map the fields with FormulaFieldDefinitions.
sample qr code url: https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=150x150&cht=qr&chl=Hello%20world&choe=UTF-8
<form id="form1" runat="server" method="post" action="Default.aspx?id=<%= ID %>" >
Ok, it is very ugly and I wouldn't have ever tried it myself. It came up in some code that was written years ago but had been working up until this weekend after a bunch of updates were installed on a client's web server where the code is hosted.
The actual result of this is the following html:
<form name="form1" method="post" action="Default.aspx?id=<%= ID %>" id="form1">
The url ends up like this:
http://localhost:6735/Default.aspx?id=<%= ID %>
Which as you can see, demonstrates that the "<" symbol is being encoded before ASP.NET actually processes the page. It seems strange to me as I thought that even though it is not pretty by any means, it should work. I'm confused.
To make matters worse, the client insists that it is a bug in IE since it appears to work in Firefox. In fact, it is broken in Firefox as well, except for some reason Firefox treats it as a 0.
Any ideas on why this happens and how to fix it easily? Everything I try to render within the server control ends up getting escaped.
Edit
Ok, I found a "fix"
<form id="form1" runat="server" method="post" action='<%# String.Format("Default.aspx?id={0}", 5) %>' >
But that requires me to call DataBind which is adding more of a hack to the original hack. Guess if nobody thinks of anything else I'll have to go with that.
I have use embedded code to assign the value to label's text property.But the assign value is not rendering.Here is my code sample,
<%lblProposedYear.Text="Hello"%>
I can not display the text "hello" at the time of page load.
I have a web page that I am converting from classic ASP to ASP.Net. There are a bunch of "Select" controls (DropDown Boxes) that I am changing to DropDownList controls. I have set the "runat='server'" in all of these controls. However, when I go to the code-behind, they are not visible/accessible. I have tried to "clean" the solution and rebuild it and the controls still won't show.
View 19 RepliesI am going to set a couple of span controls to some text. The span controls have ids like,
<span ID="text1" runat="server" />
<span ID="text2" runat="server" />
<span ID="text3" runat="server" />
And now I want to set the innethml to every span control with a while end, like while dr.read I would like to set the ID to the span dynamic, like text & I.innerhtml = "something" I = I + 1 end while but how do a refer to a ID dynamic of a control in the code?

I'm trying to take an existing bunch of code that was previously on a full .aspx page, and do the same stuff in a .ashx handler.
The code created an HtmlTable object, added rows and cells to those rows, then added that html table the .aspx's controls collection, then added it to a div that was already on the page.
I am trying to keep the code in tact but instead of putting the control into a div, actually generate the html and I'll return that in a big chunk of text that can be called via AJAX client-side.
HtmlTable errors out when I try to use the InnerHtml property (says it isn't supported), and when I try RenderControl, after making first a TextWriter and next an HtmlTextWriter object, I get the error that Page cannot be null.
