Web Forms :: Error Reading Multipart/form-data?

Oct 5, 2010

I am using Adobe Captivate 5, and ime trying to create an ASP script which will store the results from a quiz in an SQL database. The problem I am having is that captivate is posting the results from the quiz in multipart/form-data format and I am unable to retrieve the variables in my ASP script.

I have tried request.form("test") and fileUpload("test") and neither retreives the varibales.

What is the syntax to retrieve data that has been posted in the multipart/form-data format???

C# - Multipart File Uploads, Can The Data Be Written To Disk Rather Than Read Into Ram

Jul 31, 2010

I'm using ASP.NET for file uploads, and I'm hitting a bit of a snag in that data sent by the client as multipart form data is read straight into RAM.

Obviously, this means maximum file upload size is limited to the available RAM on the machine, and even then is much smaller as soon as you have multiple simultaneous uploads.

Is it possible to get ASP.NET to write the data to a temporary file on the hard drive as it is recieved rather than reading into RAM?

Better Way For Reading Values Form Url In JavaScript

Feb 10, 2011

I came across old web application which has the code to read the parameters from the URL of the site. The code is full of string processing. http://hostname.domain[port number]/application name?arg1=value1...&argN=valueN onsidering that URL parameters are always encoded it is litter difficult to rely on string processing. Also not sure if one can rely 100% on the URLEncode/Decode functions of the JavaScript.

function getURLParameters(){
if (location.search != "")
var x = location.search.substr(1).split(";")
for (var i=0; i<x.length; i++)
var y = x[i].split("=");

MVC :: Reading Form Dropdown Values

Jan 16, 2010

sorry for the naive question, but it looks it should work and it does not. Say I have this simple scenario: a controller with its view with a single action, Index. The view has a form with a dropdown with some letters and submit button. When the form is submitted (to the same Index action of the same controller) the controller should fetch from a repository all the persons whose last name begins with the selected letter and pass it back to the view. So my controller is like this (I'm using the MVC Contrib data grid):

[Code]....

The view form (a strongly typed view whose model is an IEnumerable of Person EF objects) looks like this:

[Code]....

This works the 1st time I submit the form, but whenever I click the next/previous button of the pager the Index action is invoked but I cannot read the dropdown selection: I tried with Request.Form and with a different signature in the action (by adding it a string LastName parameter), but I always get NULL instead of the selected value, so that the query returns no persons. What I'm doing wrong? How can I read the dropdown value across posts to the same action?

Feb 10, 2010

I have been using the RemotePost Class( as per http://www.jigar.net/articles/viewhtmlcontent78.aspx) to post a form to a pay provider, for about 3 months successfully, I made some changes external from the call to this class that sent an email when user presses the button to notify us that the user has selected to go through to the pay provider (similar to PayPal). and suddenly got an exception error MSCROLIB, Thread was being aborted. I have since removed the code and I still get the error it happens when I call

I tried the suggestion on KB article [URL]/ but the control is not past to the Pay Provider I also took the actual response that is written and posted it to a new html file added a submit button and it works. So I am no stuck. The Pay provider claims they have changed nothing, and has tried to help but says they are receiving no input from either our dev site or the live site.I also tried to step into the call but it just throughs the exception

Web Forms :: Post Back A Page Preserving Data Entered On The Form With Added Error Messages

Mar 6, 2011

asp.net with vb. I thought this would be easy but have been reading for an hour and not found out how to simply repost a page where form data has been entered and return the page with some error messages about what was entered. I want to return the page with all input controls with the data just as the user entered them before submitting. the error messages are labels that were blank when the page is first loaded. preferably the page returns focused to the topmost error error message. if that can't be done I would populate some label at the top of the page with something to the effect that 'errors were found, scroll down to see the errors'

MVC :: Error Reading Cookie With Associated Path

Nov 19, 2010

I'm seeing some weird behavior within MVC 2 in regard to reading cookies. I write a cookie and specify a path. I intermittently see a null value returned for this cookie within my MVC application. I've verified throug Firebug that the browser is sending along the cookie in the request headers. When debugging, I can see the cookie in the headers (i.e.) Request.Headers["cookies"] but when trying to access the cookies collection, it's null (Request.Cookies["mykey"].

I'm using the AsyncController. Since this the issue is intermitent, is it possible there is a race condition?

VS 2008 - Reading Contents Of A Text File Into Text Box On Form

Jul 13, 2011

I'm trying to read the contents of a text file into a text box on my form. When I run the following code, nothing happens.

VB.NET Code:
Protected Sub lbLogs_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object,
ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles lbLogs.SelectedIndexChanged
For Each li As ListItem In lbLogs.Items
If li.Selected Then                Using sw As New StreamReader(li.Value)
txtLog.Text = sw.ReadToEnd                     sw.Close()                End Using            End If        Next    End Sub

I populate the ListBox with ListItems and each ListItem's Value property holds the full path to the file. But, I removed all of that and just put txtLog.Text = "test" inside of the "is selected" block.
