validation(ie if there is no matching value in TableB),i want to show a confirm dialog box asking the user if they want to add a new entry in TableB. If user says Yes then take him to another page to do the entry else stay on the same page I have added that validation in textchanged event of the textbox.

I added the button attribute on page load.

What I want to do is if the OK button is clicked, save the data and then open the grid. If the Cancel button is clicked, open the grid. The problem is when I clicked the Cancel button, it didn't do anything in the OpenGridButton_Click event.

I have web page that will call the macromedia detection tool kit. But I cannot get the hasReqestedVersion value before the page is loaded. I tried to use RegisterClientScriptBlock or RegisterStartupScript inside of the Page_load function.

i have to call an executable in the client machine in asp.net and get the return parameters, i been looking for an example but i couldn't find it.
it this possible to recover the output parameters from one exe in JavaScript?
i know that can i write:
var WshShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");
var oExec = WshShell.Exec("My.exe");
but the clients executable returns 0 or 1 that values are the ones i need to collect

I have a parent page that launches a telerik radwindow and passes it an argument.
Once the radwindow is done processeing the value, I need it to return it to the parent page, and I would like the parent page to have access to this value in my code behind page.
I have tried to pass the value to a hidden field on my page and then trigger a page refresh and my code behind watches to see if the value is working.
I can't seem to get this to work. I get the return value in the parent javascript, but i can't get it from my hidden field from the code behind.

I know i've seen a tutorial for this, but can't locate it anymore. I have a class Employee in c# side, I also have a webservice where I pass in an ID# and an Employee object is returned. Now I want this object returned to Javascript code, I know I've seen it done before, can someone point me to a tutorial that shows something like this being done. I'm using the MicrosoftAjax.js file.

I'm calling a web service called GetTooltip from inside Javascript. However, since the web service is called asynchronously, it doesn't wait until I get the return value from the web service, before it continues again. This is a bit of a problem for me, since the web service is in a for-loop. How do I make the Javascript wait until I hear back from the web service, before letting Javascript continue the for-loop?

I have a simple question - I use update panel with custom server control inside. I call __doPostBack from javascript and RaisePostBackEvent on the server fires (I implement IPostBackEventHandler).This is client to server call. Could I return data back to the client (after this partial postback)? What is the best way to achieve this?

i'm a total newbie with asp.net mvc and here's my jam:
i have a 3 level list box which selection on box A shows options on box B and selection on box B will show the options for box C.
I'm trying to do the whole thing in asp.net MVC and what i see is that the nerd dinner tutorial uses the ORM method.
so i created a dbml to the database and drag the stored proc inside. i create a datacontext object but i don't quite know how to connect the result from the stored proce which should be multiple rows of data and make it into a json. so i can keep all the json data inside the html page and using jquery i could make the selection process faster. i don't expect the data inside the three boxes to change so often thus i think this method should be quite viable.
Questions:
So how do i get the stored proc part
to return the data as json?
i've noticed some tutorial online
that the json return result part is
at the controller and not at the
model end.
Why is that?

I am trying to create a dynamic table that is being built based on the value of a search text box. The Table will have probably 6 columns of 20(max) rows.
My problem is I can't figure out how to return the data from the web-service to the JS function in a way that will allow me to extract the data that I need.

I have placed HTML 'Select' control on aspx page and it's items(options) are loaded dynamically using javasvript. The items in dropdown appear properly on web page. But when I select any item from dropdown, it's selected index is not returned in aspx.cs file. In fact, it shows selected index as 0 and size of 'Select' html control as -1. I have inserted the javascript(which inserts items in dropdown) in body tag. I also tried by calling javascript function on Body onload.

I have an update function in my data layer which is defined as:
public int UpdateRBTable(parameters ...) This calls a SQL Server Stored Procedure to perform an update function on the database.
The process does its job for updating the table. However, the stored procedure has a return value (which indicates how many rows were updated), but this return value is not returned to the application. The application always shows that a zero was returned from the stored procedure.

Can my WebMethod return an XmlDocument as return type?
When I try to consume the web service I'm still not getting XML. It appears as though a reference to the method is being returned rather than say a string containing XML.

How to get asp.net return drop down list to return value as int
I want to pass the value to a stored procedure as an integer. But the default appears to be as a string which is not what the store procedure is expecting.
Is there a good way to return the list values as ints?
I suspect I can you set the value on the change selection event, is there another way?
