C# - Validation Controls Are Taking A Lot Of Space Vertically?
May 6, 2010I placed some validation controls on my grid view template. The only problem is that it is taking a lot of space vertically.

May 5, 2010I've noticed that all of the text boxes in the template fields of by details view don't all line up exactly the same. I'm floating all of them to the right so I had originally expected them to line up the same. I've also noticed that the text boxes that have two validation controls, such as a REV and RFV, are further to the left than the ones that only have one validation control.
Is this because of the space that the validation control needs to render the , or what ever is chosen to be rendered? This explanation seems to match the pattern.

Jan 13, 2010I am making some application in asp.net 1.1 in that I am displaying data in datagrid from database. In data grid first column is of check box and radio button and in the last column we have text box now thing is that when i click on check box crosponding textbox we fill some figure and at the end we press calculate button to get total. After getting total we have to press continue button to go next step
But suppose if some body remove that check the we should press calculate button or chnage some figure in the text box then we should press calculate button again to recalculate. for that i kept autopost back on check box oncheckedchanged event and text box ontextchanged event and hide continue button so user will click calcutae button abd then continue button will re-apper
Problem it that it taking too much refresh and taking long time. So was lloking for some ajax method to use in my application.

Aug 2, 2010I'm working with a databound gridview that has two columns: a checkbox and zip code. It works fine but upon rendering, it is a very long and skinny two columns which requires the user to scroll down a lot in their browser. I'd like it to be more user friendly and not require so much scrolling. tried to repeat it vertically by adding additional checkbox and databound column but just ended up with duplicate data, not continuing data from the bottom of databound column 1 to the top of databound column 2.Is there any way to repeat the columns vertically and have the data continue?

Jan 24, 2011I have a problem with DataSet.GetXml() in ASP.NET 4.0:
First I populate the dataset with some tables.
Then I run the .GetXml() method on the dataset and some XML is returned. The output of this method is not want I want it to be, however.
The desired result is this:

How do I stop this from happening? I mean, how do I stop the cell from being included at all?
In ASP.NET 1.1 the same code is used and the desired output is returned. This means that it is probably some new thing in 4.0 that I have to switch on/off. But what?

May 10, 2010I have been playing around with the ajax accordion. I have bound it to some data onload. There is a well known issue with it I am experiencing. Controls inside the accordion are taking two clicks. Eg If I post my reply button it is not invoking the BtnReply_Click event.The bug can be seen here: http://ajaxcontroltoolkit.codeplex.c...rkItemId=11055
As I see it I have three options:
1. Download the patch they talk about. I can't see any info on how to install such a patch. It could be tricky.
2. Manually edit the accordion.vb file. How do you edit control classes?
3. Try and work around this in my code.

Jun 29, 2010I'm using data access block [URL] in asp.net 3.5. Back end is sql server 2005. It's working fine and returns result instantly for all DB calls. But, I've a problem with one SP. When I call it, executereader is taking too much time. In few cases, it is executed. And sometimes I get the Time out error. I run the same SP in sql server. It returns 9000 rows in 3 seconds.
