On Visual Studio's web server: dd/MM/yyyy en-US
On IIS: M/d/yyyy en-US
Does "Regional and Language Options" in "Control Panel" play any role in this ? If I change the date format there in "Regional and Language Options", I see no effect in my application.
I'm trying to copy-paste minified JavaScript code from one .js file to another. But when I paste the code, it auto-formats... (line-breaks and indentation is added automatically)...But I didn't want that to happen. How do I solve this problem?
I'm developing a website using Visual Studio 2010 Beta on computer 1. The site is working...I can debug, the pages render in a browser and I even have Member accounts working. Life is good.
I'm trying to move the application to the new computer (computer 2). I've downloaded Visual Studio Beta 2010 (slightly different look and feel) and copied the project over.
When I try to run the project in the new computer I'm getting the error:
Parser Error Message: Unrecognized attribute 'targetFramework'. Note that attribute names are case-sensitive.
Not sure where to go with this. The web.config file is identical on both computers. The project is set to run with .Net 4 on both computers. Not sure why the targetFramework attribute would be allowed on computer 1 but not on computer 2.Maybe the earlier version of VS 2010 on computer 1 is allowing something that shouldn't be allowed?
I am using Visual Studio 2008. Last few days I am getting an error while trying to add or update web reference.
"The components required to enumerate web references are not installed on this computer. re-install Visual Studio."
I tried some commands like "C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8Common7IDE>devenv /resetskippkgs" in VS Command prompt, still I am getting the same problem.
I also found in one post to uninstall "Microsoft Source Analysis Tool For C#" from the machine. But in my machine the tool is not installed.
I am a programer really new to all ASP applications and stuff. I have a server application done with VS, wich run correctly from there, but I need it to run from outside VS. My colleague and I are both using VS 2010 and we have created a web application each. We can both publish our own applications to a ftp (web host's) and it works fine. However, if my colleague send me his solution and I run it locally on my machine it works but when I try to publish it I get promped for password and I enter it (same as I use for my application) but it fails. Same for my colleague if he takes a copy of my solution and tries to publish it.

I got these errors while trying to run a web application using vs 2008, The first error is this: >Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. >process ID=0x1130 (4400), Thread ID=0xe6c (3692). And when I press OK a second dialog reports this error:>unable to connect to the asp.net development server. I reinstalled, repaired and re registered msdbg2.dll and edited hosts file but still get this error. I need to debug an application but I can't. This error is on a 'Win 2003 server enrterprise service pack 1' with a vs2008 team system installation. What can I do to remove this error and run and debug my application?
I am developing a single web application that will dynamically change its content depending on which domain name is used to reach the site. Multiple domains will point to the same application. I wish to use the following code (or something close) to detect the domain name and perform the customizations:
[code]....
I would like to test the functionality of the above using the ASP.NET development server. I created mappings in the local HOSTS file to map [URL] to 127.0.0.1, and [URL] to 127.0.0.1. I then browse to the application with the browser using [URL] (etc).
When I try to test this code using the ASP.net development server the [URL] always says localhost. It does NOT capture the host entered in the browser, only localhost.
Is there a way to test the URL detection functionality using the development server?
I'm trying to deploy my MVC 2.0 web application to a Windows 2003 server with IIS6, and can't find the means to do it. I read about clicking Build/Deploy, but I don't have this showing on my menu, and I have the professional version.
I'm trying to publish my ASP.NET web application in Visual Studio 2010. I'm then trying to install it as a website on a server using IIS. I've gotten my application to publish (to a .zip file) but it points to the physical directory on my hard drive. This obviously will not work on the server.
If culture is en-GB then string dateFormat="dd/mmyyyy"; string timeFormat="24.00 hrs";
and so on for other countries..Now how do I get these date and time format values ? What are the standards? Like which all countries use similar date/time formats and which ones don't ?ok I tried this :- DateTime myDate = new DateTime(); string us = myDate.ToString(new CultureInfo("en-US"));
string us gets value =1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM
Now how do I extract "dd/mm/yyyy" and "24.00 hrs" out of this...in my Dateformat column in my Table... I want to store STRINGS such as dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy NOT dates..In my TimeFormat column in the table, the values to be stores are STRINGS too, like I need to store either "24:00hrs" or "12:00hrs"
How do I do this now ?**using ShorTimePattern returns these values as h:mm tt and HH:mm
If I want to store the values in my DB exactly as "24:00hrs" and "12:00hrs", how do I use these values..h:mm tt and HH:mm,which one is for 24 hr format and which for 12 hr format ?**I want the information about Decimal Separator and Thousand Separator too based on the CultureInfo...whats the property for that ?
