How To Get UpdateCommand To Work With An Access DataSource And A GridView ControlI

I'm trying to understand how to get the UpdateCommand to work with an Access DataSource and a GridView controlI can click Edit which opens the row for editing, change the Department Field, then click the Update link. The page refreshes, but the change I made is not updated. I have tried hard coding the UniqueID field with a '1' and hardcoding a new Department code into my code and that works. But I really need the interaction with the user version to work. This is my first attempt to use VS 2008 with a web page.

I have a problem with a GridView control.I am using the UpdateCommand but the new value is not being stored. If I hard-code in the value to the aspx page it works fine but not if I pass the parameter.The value I am trying to update is called "PC_NAME" an it is an integer.

From my testing, it appears that the order of parameters for the UpdateParameters must match both the order of the bound fields on the form (asp:Formview), and the order of the parameters in the UpdateCommand. Is that correct? If so, why do the parameters have names if all that matters is the order? I tried both asp:ControlParameter and asp:Parameter. Maybe the more relevant question is why aren't the names used instead of the order, particularly for the form order?
So, given I display the Identity field (CID), and need that for the update, I cannot get the update to work without including it in the UpdateCommand. Of course, since it is an autonumber field in Access, I cannot actually set it. So, I had to add another field to the db (lngUpdateCID) that I could set. That can't be how it has to be done, but I could not figure out another way to do this.

On update the dropdown value shows NULL in database : here's structure for my gridview

I am having a gridview with an object datasource binded in the markup(aspx page).When page loads it directly works fine with all sorting and paging properties.However, i need to filter display on gridview so i have to change the datasource of the gridview on the code behindIt works fine.. i mean the filtering and displaying is good but paging and sorting doesnt work.

I got a gridview to display the data from the database properly but when I go edit. it give me an error. I searched and change ConflictDetection=CompareAllValues to OverwriteChanges
The error goes away. However the database is still doesn't update. Does anyone had to tweak the gridview function to make it works. Maybe I did something wrong.

I have a gridview with entity frame work datasource. When editing or deleting I get Store update, insert or delete statement affected an unexpected number of rows(0). I selected * from the datasource. I made a template field to show the posts. There is a PostId in the framework. I am guessing that the PostID is not bound to the gridview the problem and the fix?

I have got a small website with MS Access Database. I have used access membership provide with it. i bought hosting with Discountasp.net when i uplaoded my web to the server it gives me following error. It works perfect on my local machine.
i have contacted the support guys they say there is somthing worng with my web config there is nothing pointing to sql server in my web config. here is my error message. I have a hosting with iis 6 it does work on that but it does not with with iis7.

I have a situation where I am accessing a database multiple times and I'm wondering if it is necessary.
I have a GridView with a template column with a hyperlink to "Get Results" and on the RowDataBound event I have it check the batch number against the database and see if results exist and then if they don't, hide the link.
So when viewing the page if there is 20 rows in the gridview it is effectively doing 20 queries.
I was wondering if it is a better idea to query the database once with all "batches" and load it into a datatable, then on the RowDataBound event query the datatable. The only issue I see with this is there is currently 40,000 batches and grows daily.

I feel certain this has been asked before, but while I can find a number of discussions related to Server 2003 x64 and the Jet 4.0 provider, none pop up for Windows XP x64 and the Jet provider.I need to work on a .Net application that uses Access databases. There's no changing data stores and no changing of the Operating Systems.How do I get a Jet provider to work in Windows XP x64?FOLLOW-UP: I solved this; it uses exactly the same steps as used for Server 2003 x64 PLUS (and this is missing even on MSDN) it requires an aspnet_regiis to register 32-bit asp.net.

I am storing a custom "Organisation" object as a session variable. One of the properties of the Organisation object is "OrganisationID" (integer). I have a DataSource that requires a parameter value to run, and I want to use a SessionParameter to populate this. In a previous version, I stored the OrganisationID directly as a session variable. In that case, I could easily access it like this:

It is a bit long ! I am having problem on last two where declaration. here ;
(Deger >= [MinReq]) AND (Deger <= [MaxCap])
those MinReq and MaxCap columns are int32 columns. But when I run the page it doesnt work properly ! It display the valuse it shouldn't be ! weird thing is, when I display this 'deger', I get the value properly. with this;

for example I get 8 with this but it dosnt work on where statement.

I'm using Access 2007 for a project and I'm trying to run the following parameterized query:

The really weird thing is that it will work if I hard code the value:

What is the best way for me to build a control that will kinda work like an Access table in ASP.NET?
That is, I define, say, 3 columns. The user can add/edit/remove rows. It can be one row at a time, that's fine. There are other fields on the form too, not related to this table. When the user is done adding rows of information, then they hit 'submit', and at that point, is when I grab all the data out of the control and save to a database (or xml file or whatever).
I've tried to build something with ListView and/or GridView.

I'm simply adding to a set of rules on existing rewrite rules for our company website. We have a file that we need to restrict to only our internal IP addresses. The URL is http://oursite.com/internal/index.aspx?u=blahblah and need it restricted to IP ranges 10.1.X.X. I'm adding this and it's not doing anything. Even if I tried to capture all using .* for the pattern, it still ignores it. Is my syntax correct?
