Mar 12, 2011I have three textbox ... textbox1 and textbox2 and textbox3 I want when I choose from date in textbox1 say 1-May-2011 and to date in textbox2 say 30-May-2011 and in textbox I type 1,2,3,4,5 I want on button click ... event the values will be entererd in database from 1-May-2011 to 30-May2011 as : mentioned below :

so on till 30_may-2011 Record will be inserted in database according to from date and to date choosen in textbox1 and textbox2 respectively.

Although it does not show any error and return to the index page, it cannot update the record because I can see the original record in the index page. Is there any mistakes I made?
I have tested the record insertion and it works. Therefore, I think it is not the problem on the database write permission.

Oct 1, 2010I am currently working on visual studio 2008 , sql express 2005, i have copied .mdf and .ldf files , after i copied these files and try execute some existing stored procedure but exception is coming like " Failed to update database xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.MDF" because the database is read-only", I dont knw what's wrong with this , i have executed same stored procedure in old .mdf and .ldf database , and its working fine . but in copied .Mdf , not working.

Sep 20, 2010I've got a single table, with project information and schedule information. To make the data easier to present, I created a tab control with two panels (a detailsview in each). The first tab is for project info, the second tab is for schedule info (again, all fields in the same table). The problem is, if i change info in both tabs, and then hit the update button, only the data from one tab is added to the table. I think this problem is simple to fix, and boils down to the way I have the page organized, but I can't quite figure it out.
I've boiled my code down to the following conceptualized structure:

When you click the update button, you return to the listview, but with only the information from your current tab saved. How can I get it to update from both detailsviews?

Feb 8, 2010This is a very common error as evidenced but the very large number of problems and suggested solutions on the web. I finally got around it last week but can't remember what was the step that did it. At that time, I was building a web application rather than a web site. Is that the difference? As you can see, it is no longer in the APP_DATA folder and is named membership.mdf rather than aspnetdb.mdf. I ran aspnet_regsql.exe to create it and actually had it working and was updating it successfully. But for other reasons, I had to scrap the application and decided to re-create it from scratch as a web site rather than a web application. I had been using Visual Studio 2008 to build the web application but am now using Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition to build the web site. Unfortunately, the Visual Studio application will no longer open so I can't verify that the web application still works. Can anybody help? (Please!!!) BTW, ASPNET and NETWORK SERVICE both have full control over the membership.mdf.

I have added the edit command which is allowing me to edit all of the fields that are not set to read only but when I press the update button all the infomation stored in the readomly fields gets deleted and just show up as blank is there a way to stop them from getting deleted.
