Aug 10, 2010I have a ListView that populates and displays a user's data (via a profile system in VWD 2008) during Page_Load and also when I go from the EditItemTemplate to the ItemTemplate. Then when I go to the edit screen again, my DropDownList and RadioButtonList controls display the first items in the corresponding tables instead of the correct profile values. I don't understand why the controls populate correctly the first and second times but not on the third time (that's right, the third time is NOT a charm).

I am using nested listviews to display Sales and Sales details.
The main ListView displays General Information about Sales and the child ListView displays the detailed information about one sale. the child listview is shown only when the user clicks on a link (see included code, DataBind is made on PageLoad) :

If I removed the datapager part, I can manage show/hide the child list view on the button click event. but if I want to use the DataPager with the PreRender event handling, the child listview is not longer shown on button click.

Oct 26, 2010I have a listview and a dropdownlist that is pulling from an SQLTable that I am using to insert data into the ListView, which is associated with the SQLTable. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to get this thing to not allow duplicate entries into the listview.
If I could get at the data that is inside the ListView I think my problem would be solved. At the moment all the code I have is to simply find if I can at least get the data down to something I can compare, from that step I will have no problem writing something functional, at least functional for my needs. I really could use a hand with this:

Jan 20, 2010I creating a page where our clients can view advertising images and then able to download the images in different file formats. So I need the images and the different download types all saved into the same row in the database so that when I go to display them on the page when they select a picture the right download links will be there. So here where my problem comes in, I don't know how to code it so that I can insert mulitiple file paths into the database at once. The images are saved in a table called images. The downloads are saved in a table called Image Downloads.
Here is the code for the page I have it coded to submit the images to the database but not sure how to add the rest. I have got three different sql datasources for each table not sure if that's the way to go.

Jun 15, 2010I have a ListView that contains a lot of editable items. Every item has some values, like; item name, item price, item size and so forth. I would like to add another editable column which should be a drop down list. This should list which sizes the item is available at, like S, M, L, XL. Some item are only available in S and M, while other items may just have a standard size (meaning none of the above sizes). So for example if you are to add an item called polo shirt and its only available in sizes L and XL then you should be able to do that. And then at the front-end where the users surf the items it should be like that when a users sees this Polo shirt he should be presented with a drop down list where he is only able to select L and XL
I can't figure out how to implement this in the Listview and the database. I have mentioned that I want a drop down list to appear in the back-end, this is not a necessity, anything will do as long as the front-end is showing a drop down list with the choosen sizes.

Jan 10, 2011I have two listviews. The inner listview (InnerListView1) is in the SelecttItemTemplate of the outer listview (OuterListView1). Both listviews are bind in the code behind. The outer listview displays correctly in the ItemTemplate. Neither Listview Listview displays in the SelectItemTemplate. Both should display when I click the Select button. I just get a postback (flicker). The display should include the selected record of the outer listview and the inner listview.

Jul 5, 2010I have a list box in a list view control. I want to access the value of the listbox. I have fixed the height of the list box and the box has scroll bars. If i change the number using the scrollbar and then click on the number (turning it blue) everthing works fine. If I simply change the number using the scrollbar the system throws the error below. Can anyone tell me how to get this to work simply by using the scrollbar to select the number (without having to also click on the number itself) This is the error that is thrown

but it does not work - the DataItem property of each Item of ListView has null value. The point is that I have generic list with data. I am binding this data into ListView which can be edited by user. After that after click Save or GetData data from ListView is read into generic list of MyClass type.

Dec 19, 2010I have created a asp.net webpage for viewing daily downloaded newspaper, saved as a pdf file in a selected folder (~/NEWS/{0}) within the web root directory. Also i have a SQL datasource linked, where the news table has two columns viz: date and filename.
I want to create a tiled listview where the date text is visible on the hyperlink. on clicking the hyperlink, the file name is retreived for the corresponding date and the pdf file opens in a fresh page.
I have tried going to the item template in listview and replacing the label control with a hyperlink control, but then not able to successfully proceed ahead.

Aug 4, 2010I have a listview that is displaying records currently based on a dropdown.. works great.. now, within those results returned, i would like to filter down some more.. How can i add a dropdownlist to the page that is populated with data from the listview(only 1 field would be used to create the list ) and if you chose to filter by that drop down, then the listview is revised to display only records with the selected value.
Example..
Currently you pick from a drop down.. Report#1, Report#2 or Report#3 Say report#1 returns 100 records.. and the field im going to be filtering on is my "Vendor" field.. so once my listview displays my results, a dropdownlist is populated with all the vendors that were returned with the query.. could just be a few..
Now you are sitting there paging thru all the records.. and realize you really just need to see out of the 100 records, records that belong to Vendor#3, so you pick #3 from the drop downlist and the procedure is called again now filtering on that vendor..
