if a request from my website is containing some errors(database linking errors) then asp.net host server error page is displaying but i want to avoid the error page and i hav to display my own custom designed error page instead.

The page with URL "[URL]" can also be accessed by using URL "[URL]".Search engines identify unique pages by using URLs. When a single page can be accessed by using any one of multiple URLs, a search engine assumes that there are multiple unique pages. Use a single URL to reference a page to prevent dilution of page relevance. You can prevent dilution by following a standard URL format.
Recommended action: Pick a canonical URL format for your site and then ensure that all the links in your site follow that format. (For example, always use lowercase letters.) If an external link that points to your site does not use the canonical URL format, use permanent HTTP redirection to redirect site visitors and search engines to a canonical equivalent of that URL.
I tried to solve this by redirect page to a default.aspx. The problem is that HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.ToString(), always shows [URL] So I can't detect if url typed in browser is only [URL] or [URL] I know that that can be solved in IIS7, but I can't access it to do that in hosting server. Is any solution in ASP.NET to redirect to default page any time when in browser is typed only domain name?
I defined a default error page in the ASP.Net Web Site Administration tool. The page exists in root directory. I also confirmed that it pointed to my frmErrorPage.aspx by looking in my Web.config file

The redirection to the default page for the "Customers" role is working fine, but I get an oledb error stating that one or more parameters are not being passed when I redirect a user from the "Employees" role. When i created a simple site via Matrix which adopts Razor technology by default, i found site automatically display "default.cshtml" if started through "http://localhost:xxxx/bread/" ; however i hadn't set "default.cshtml" as "default document" for this site, even i seek in the "applicationhost.config" i just find

Here is my scenario.In default.aspx page user selects the country, state, city from drop down list, and store them in cache for further use. but when other user open the web site from other computer it shows the same country, state, and city selected by user 1. Is there any problem related to cache? I have stored data as following.

I have a data driven asp.net website with frames on the top, left, right and center screen. If a page generates an error on any of the frames, I want to redirect the whole site back to the Default.aspx. Currently, when a frame page errors in one of the frames, that frame gets the error pages. Site is URL.... Is this something that can be handled?

I need to force SSL when going to the final checkout page (for example from default.aspx to checkout.aspx).
I need to pass variables to this check out page and tried to use server.transfer(https://www.mydomain.com/checkout.aspx). I then use previous page .Fincontrol to read text box and label name to this check out page. If I only do the server.transfer("~/checkout.aspx") then my I can read all vakues of my controls from the passing default.aspx page.
But when I force https:// then I cannot read the control values from default.aspx page.
Please give me some tips on how to get control values to the https:// destination page or if you have another tips on how to do it the right way, please let me know.
I have a Asp.Net application eg its name is ABC and I have a server eg whose name is XYZ, where the application is hosted from. View 6 RepliesI have an application that I run in several places (demo, production, local, etc.) that all use different virtual directories for the placement of the MVC application.
I use StructureMap in this application, so I am overriding the ControllerFactory to use StructureMap to build controllers (when the passed controller instance is not null).
My problem is that the controller instance being passed to the controller factory IS null, which is fine if said route didn't exist, but it does... specifically, it should be my DEFAULT ROOT route.
Basically if I host the app at [URL], everything works fine except when I have a '/' on the end of the URL (meaning,[URL]... the latter works fine, while the former gives me the error). It looks like when that slash is there, the routing engine is deciding that it should be looking for a controller named MvcController, which doesn't exist, and which then passes the null controller instance to the ControllerFactory, resulting in the following error:
The controller for path '/Mvc/' could not be found or it does not implement IController.
My Default route is the standard default route. Removing all other routes has no effect. My default controller is HomeController.

I installed windows 7 recently & I am new to ASP.NET. I installed visual studio 2008 for developing ASP.NET application. I created my web application on visual web developer 2008 & when I run my aplication, ASP.NET development server runs & my defualt browser opens automatically but it cannot show my web page. Connection error ocurrs. But when I open this web page with visual studio's internal browser, it works fine for me. So tell me whats the problem with my default browser(IE8, Flock2.6), Any configuration setting or what, I don't know exactly.
