View 2 RepliesThe following link describes the relationships between a Partial View and its parent in terms of ViewData: [URL] In relation to the text: "A partial view enables you to define a view that will be rendered inside a parent view. Partial views are implemented as ASP.NET user controls (.ascx).
When a partial view is instantiated, it gets its own copy of the ViewDataDictionary object that is available to the parent view. The partial view therefore has access to the data of the parent view. However, if the partial view updates the data, those updates affect only the partial view's ViewData object. The parent view's data is not changed"
how the parent view can make use of the new data added or existing data changed and updated, by the partial views? My question is around how to load partial views dynamically at runtime using Html.RenderPartial(...) whilst having one version of the data used and updated by the parent view and it's children.
Can any one let me know "How to load the dynamcially added HTML Controls(Controls added using javascript) during the postbacks without loosing their values?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to dynamically load an image from my code behind file, however I want to be able to resize the image thus reducing the file size sent to the client. I've come across a few samples but without much luck. So far I have the following:
[Code]....
Unfortunately I now need to load this image into control panel...but nowhere can I find how to do this.
<%= Html.RouteLink(">>>", new { page = (Model.PageIndex + 1) },null)%>
Is it possible to set image instead ">>>" and how?
I have a tab control on my page and on click of tab user control is loaded dynamically.I need to load the javascript file of that user control dynamically. I don't want to add the reference of my js file on parent page.so in my .ascx page load event i added:
System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlGenericControl js = new System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlGenericControl("script");
js.Attributes["type"] = "text/javascript";
js.Attributes["src"] = "../../js/DatesJavaScript.js";
Page.Header.Controls.Add(js);
but it is not working.
i have two buttons, which point to some onclick-methods in my code-behind file. inside these btn_click-codes i want to start adding pure html-code to my page, which was told to me in this forum having done by using ascx-files. note: there would be no code-behind in case of using the ascx-files.
however i do not see a possibility to load these ascx-files within btn_click-code? how to do?
in order to give you an idea of my html-code i have pasted two of them here:
[Code]....
maybe this is the complete wrong approach (as i.e. i believe that body-tags should not be included in .ascx-code). in this - how to do better?
Precisely and concisely, I have aspx page that has only one button "Generate". If the user clicked on this button, one HTML page should be created.
The created HTML page should have title "Home" and the Body should contain "Hello World".
1) What is the code that should be written inside "Generate" button in order to accomplish this functionality?
2) Assuming the HTML page gets created, How to store it inside specific folder on the local drive? Or how to store it inside DB?
way to write a comment at particular place in HTML from C#? For example, after a particular label? I can write a comment as follows:
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Write("<!-- " + ... " -->");
}
but this appears before the DOCTYPE. I'd like to write it at a particular place, or at least in the "body".Thinking about it, I guess I could create a comment label at the beginning of the body and write it there:
Label1.Text = "<!-- " + ... " -->";
Is there a way to make sure it is in the body if I do not have a Label already defined for the purpose.
Is it possible to place .net code inside of a .html webpage?
View 3 RepliesI am working with a pretty complicated .aspx page that is full of controls (Telerik, Ajax, etc.) that all expand, collapse, show, hide, etc. when the page is loaded. Since this rendering happens on the client-side and can take different lengths of time based on the users machine specs, is there a way to detect when all (or some) rendering has taken place (jQuery?) so I can then act on specific elements, knowing they are fully rendered?

I want to use this jquery script, basically i am using it as a sales goal progress bar, where the number before the span is the current sales. But my issue is my sales are going to be in asp.net labels not in plain text
i want to create a few textbox dynamically in place holder but when i created and click on btn and use findcontrol to retrive input data that created dynamically storing data in db , i will receive an error like this :

I have a requirement where I need to generate a pdf doc.I am using itextlibrary for that condition.I am able to generate pdf doc but alignment is not correct.The table is getting divided in to two equal parts for two columns in pdf doc for what ever width I specify.For ex if I have set width as 650px its not taking that width in pdf doc instead it is taking full doc.How to set the table at desired location in pdf doc and set width of columns.I tried to set width of column in the html table but its not working.
StringBuilder strHTMLContent = new StringBuilder();
trHTMLContent.Append("<table style='font-family:Times New Roman; font-size:18px;'>".ToString());
strHTMLContent.Append("<tr><td width='100px'>column1</td><td width='300px'>column2</td></tr>");
strHTMLContent.Append("</table>");

I'm putting together a help page for my web app and figured that rather than the usual 'Help' file stuff, I could put a short video help file along with an explanation.
I have a page with around 12 topics, I'd like the user to be able to click a link and it shows a video clip (either .avi or mov file) on the page. It would be cool if the movie placeholder just showed the link to the movie that was clicked rather than a new page each time.
My application is running fine locally when I deploy it it is giving me the above error saying
Description:
An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
In my asp.net application, user can send/upload aspx files & those files can be accessed by the users later(there need to implement code level security as it would be better to run the application with minimal permission). So now I need to store these files & where is the better place to store in it. Shall I create a folder giving low permission inside the current project? or shall I create separate virtual directory like "www.mydomain.com/files" & place in it. I want to prevent the restarting of application domain also.
View 1 RepliesI'm having difficulties getting XslCompiledTransform.Load method to take a server path. I googled around and found that I need to do something like:
xslt.Load(System.Web.HttpContext.Server.MapPath(xslPath), XsltSettings.Default, new XmlUrlResolver());
But it returned an error saying HttpContext is null.
I also tried:
xslt.Load(System.Web.HttpServerUtility.MapPath(xslPath), XsltSettings.Default, new XmlUrlResolver());
That also returned an error saying an object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property 'System.Web.HttpServerUtility.MapPath(string)'
The xslPath has a path that points to a xsl file in Sharepoint Web. I just want XslCompiledTransform to load the xsl file with the server path. Is it possible? If so, what is the proper way or hackish way of doing it?
EDIT: I have access to a SPWeb object which contains the path to the xsl file. However when I check the ServerRelativeUrl, it just says "/MyTree/xsl.xsl". The problem here is I couldn't get the XslCompiledTransform.Load to load the file from SharePoint list.
By default VS 2010 likes to put CSS in-line, I'm wondering if there is a way to force it to put the CSS into a css file instead?

View 4 RepliesI am using file upload control in aspx page. I want to put file upload logic in class library. but not getting how to distribute logic.
View 2 RepliesI've created a seperate html files for navigation, content and footer. I want to club those files. All the navigation, content, footer files resides in the same directory where the index.html file resides. I want to include the above mentioned html files inside the index.html. I have tried using the following in index.html file <!-- #include virtual="topbanner.html" -->
I also tried using the asp code which also fails. I tried with asp by changing all the html file extensions as .asp. Then i tried to place the following asp code in index.asp file as
<!-- #include file="topbanner.asp" -->
I want to place two datalist controls at the same (x,y) position. When the first is visible, second should be invisible.
How would I go about implementing this?
If I add this to the ASPX page: <input id="Text1" type="text" value="Text1Value" /> I would expect to see "Text1" in the list of Request Form keys even WITHOUT setting the runat=Server property. request.Form.AllKeys I realize that if I do set that propery, then I will have a server-sided HTML control that I can reference using the name "Text1," but shouldn't I be able to access the text in the text box using the following VB.NET syntax? request.Form("Text1")
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to write some code to use reflection to load new assemblies. I observed the file system with FileSystemWatcher, so that if anything in the folder changed, I can get notified and then reload them.
Firstly I have an assembly filters.dll loaded. Let's say its version is 1.0.0. Then when I have a new one v1.0.1, I paste it into the folder and replace the older one. Of course this fires "Change" event of FileSystemWatcher, and finally lead to assembly reloading.
Everything works fine, but I just want to know, what would happen to the firstly loaded assembly? Get replaced by the newer one? Or still somewhere in the memory?
