I am using LINQ to retrieve the Data. So Using Linq I am calling the stored procedure.
So I ll get the table values in the C# Code the table values.
so in my UI i have 4 gridviews.
I want split the output values into four source and bind it to the grid.
I am new to sql so please bear with me here.I have two tables, COURSES and RESPONSES which have a common field userID. I am making a grid view which displays each users available courseName from the COURSES table and dateTaken from the RESPONSE table. So I simply wrote the query as:

I've scenerio where i've two dropdownlist box (one dependent on other, displays handset brand name and on selection displays the respective model name), two combolistbox which is bounded to their respective datasource(Displays the fault and accessories).
Now i've to update the three tables booking(Handsetid, Brand,model), accessories(handsetId,AcesoriesID) and fault(handsetID,faultID). Ive to update multiple rows in Accessories and fault.

I have a web app that uses a master page with mulitple user controls on each content page. Most of the content pages have grids (telerik) that present data, with HTML tables that are created dynamically from a database. I write the load the HTML dynamically into a label. We also are loading a YouTube snippet that is set in HTML and we are get the most recent video within a playlist.
My challenge is that the pages are loading slow. Very slow. There is consistent traffic to the main site with two other sub domains for management and they all utilize one database (shared within one instance of about 20 databases) on a shared web hosting server.
My goal is to determine if the User Controls, Data Access, WebServer, or SQL Instance is slowing the site (all 3 domains).
The site is running good with about 400 avg daily users, however, the site is now averaging about 1300+ daily users and i'm not sure if a Dedicated Server w/dedicated SQL Instance will resolve the challenges we are facing.
A follow up question concerning the DAL layer part .. The first question about dealing with large objectsI have one table (PlacesTable) that is connected by like 6 other tables (1:Many and Many:Many relations)
In my DAL should I put a big query that join the 6 tables + the m:m reference tables (btw it produces multiple data that I don't need Please refer to my old question) and place all the data in it's specific object property or, should I use a single query for each table and create an object for each fetched table .. and finally send those to the UI ?If I wasn't clear enough please let me know what I further information do you need to know!

I want to create a form on a page with 10 textboxes so the applicant can type in some job duties they had at that job.
Is there a way in C# or SQL to then cycle through and insert the textbox values as separate rows?
Is it possible in to set up an SQL table column to have multiple values? Or would I have to put my values into a new table and link it to the original one?

My problem is if multiple users call the same SP in same time it throwing error..(I guess one user at a time can access the table and table will be locked, that is why remaning users getting error)how to handle this situation. it is a web application, so at a time so many people can call the same SP.How can many users insert data in the same table in the same time?

I basically have a series of tables from one database that have an identical structure thus making retrieval of all records fairly easy (I just use a UNION ALL statement). However I need a list of values from another table within a different database that contains information regarding the group of the data.
I so far have the following:

I keep receiving a unable to parse message however all I need to retreive is the SR_GROUP value but just don't know the correct syntax. Is it actually possible to do this as the structure of SRFILE is not the same as Table1/2/3.

I've requirement where user can enter multiple columns like first name, lastname, email, age, sex fields and insert them into database.on my frontend aspx page, i'll be showing a single row initially with 5 text boxes(first name, lastname, email, age, sex) and a button to add more columns. when user clicks on add more, another 5 textboxes will be shown and then i'll be taking 5 + 5 (textbox values) and comma seperate them and need to insert into a table with primary auto increment key ID and the remaining 5 columns(firstname, lastname, email, age, sex). I have one view page (MyView.aspx) and many data sources to bind on this page. Lets say it has Books, Publishers, Comments, etc. Each one of those has an object which provides a List, List, etc. In my view, what are my optiosn for multilple model biding? I want to check to see if each one is empty, and then enumerate it. But I can't check Model.Count() because wouldn't Model be made of all those objects if I set the page to inheriet from? What are my options? Should I load each content area in a control/partial view? Or can I just dump each object into ViewData and then check the count by casting in the view?
View 2 RepliesIm struggling with a way to bind multiple rows of sql data to specific controls, what im trying to acheive is having a list of questions / answers in my SQL db and loading them into my web form to build a questionaire.
The data i load into the form depends on criteria like which questionaire is it (there will be 2 seperate ones) and what language should it be loaded in, this will be controlled using drop down lists and passing these parameters to the SQL select statement.
The problem i have is i am unsure which method to pull the data out of the question column in my table, and bind it to seperate controls row by row, should i use a SQLDataReader or load the data into a dataset, or run a stored procedure to pull the data?
Which is the best way to get data from sql and bind it to controls in this situation?
For example:
label1.text = sqlcolumn1.row1.value;
label2.text = sqlcolum1.row2.value;
Etc...
I have a situation where in a legacy app (VB6) I have a grid which is populated by any one of a large number of (100+) stored procedures. Each of the procedures returns one or more rows with an identical list of columns (including column names, column data types, column order). I am basically looking at the (best) options to keep things reasonably light weight. Each procedure has its own set of parameters, each of which would result in different query plans etc. I have tried using each query to exec select into a (temp) table which is encapsulated into a "master" query which then returns a single results set, but it breaks SQL, the query optimiser returns an infinite number of rows - this is a MS documented issue. Looking for possible ways forward: generics, model view etc

Following is the code i tried, but is not working. For some reason, it selects only the last item in the datacolumn.

I have set up an email function where a user of my website is able to send an email from the webpage including subject field and email body this allows the user that is logged in to select an email address from a drop down menu, once the email send button is clicked this will send an email to whatever email address in the dropdown menu has been selected. I want to be able to incorporate the option to send to multiple contacts such as a class list. I have set up a grid view that pulls information from the database this shows the contacts name, email address and also has a check box column.
I have set up a select all for the checkbox; I want to set up that if a checkbox is selected then the email will be sent to that person in question, so they could send an email to one, many or all users. Here is the vb code for on the email send button at the moment. I know that it has to do with the myMessage.To.Add(TxtBxEmail.Text). But instead of selecting TxtBxEmail.Text that contains the one email address from the drop down menu. I wish to be able to select any email addresses from the grid view that have been selected. This is in VS 2010 VB.

I need to generate a link that will contain the bookingId and the selected reason for canceling the booking.I can get the bookingId out easily since it's stored in the Model...but how do I go about the selected ReasonId?

I have seen many articles that show you how to upload multiple by either have 5-10 fileupload controls or to Automatically add the controls using JavaScript... But I want it so that I can Select Multiple files when the openFileDialogue box appears so, its like the ajaxuploader.com but free.
