Dynamic Data Be Made To Work With Custom Business Objects Rather Than Data Objects?

Feb 24, 2010

I'm working on a project in which we have a database, data layer (entity framework), business layer and web/UI layer.I want to use ASP.NET Dynamic Data for the web layer, but don't want it to access the data layer or database, as I want it to be purely running off business logic, and not directly accessing the data.However, it appears that Dynamic Data only allows Linq-to-SQL or entity framework data sources to be used.Has anyone used it with business-layer objects instead?

Data Controls :: Add Dynamic Page Title From Database

Feb 14, 2014

I have a page which lists stores,malls of individual cities. I have used the list of cities in DropDownList. I have added dynamic title to page as like

Page.Title="Stores in"+DropDownList1.SelectedValue;

It works fine. But when I see that page in Google Search then its showing only one title like "Stores in Delhi". Here 'Delhi' is in the default selected value in DropDownList1. But as I have many cities in that DropDownList1, I want to show each value of DropDownList1 to be appear in search result as title according to search query. For example if user types search query "Stores in Jaipur" then search result should show result with this title "Stores in Jaipur" Remember that Dynamic title is working fine but question is that "How to show is in search result"

Forms Data Controls :: Creating A Dynamic Textboxes According To Database Tables?

Oct 25, 2010

Example: we have different articles in a database like cars, jewelery, boats. The data related to these articles is different in the tables. I have to show that data in a textboxes and let the user change those data and update. I can do the update and reading the data from database. But the problems is for each item the no.of columns and rows will differ.

My task is I need to get the data according to the use selection in the table with textboxes. I dont know which container (gridview, formview or etc) will suites for my requirement. send me any sample code or any tutorial related to this.

Note: showing the data in a table should be a constraint. Because I should show data row wise (each row contains 3 textboxes and 3 labels (DB table column names))

suggest a better way for me to do this that means only one call to the database for all dropdowns rendered?

DataSource Controls :: Tried To Update My Current Database With The Triggers To Input The Schema Into The Already Existing Database Can't Get That To Work?

Jan 22, 2010

Creating a system with web front end and SQL backend (microsoft obviously). I have tried using the asp.netsqlprovider but i can;t as i am only allowed one database on the server, so i then tried to update my current database with the triggers to input the schema into the already existing database.Next step i create my own table with two simple fields of username and password and try and authenticate that way, i can't get that to work either.

I ahve limited permissions on the network as i am a University Student. I really don't know what to do. Never had to create a log on system before and i thought it would be far simpler than this. I ahve used Microsoft's sqlprovider schema before and it worked fine. I have also authenticated via IIS and AD too before. I can't do any of those two in this instance it seems.I need an alternative for logging in users, if needs be in can be crude. I also still need to have some kind of two different views too for logged in users and not logged in users, but that can change if needs must.Don't let me down people, haha. Think this posts in the correct place, i could not find another one i thought could be more relevant.
