I am new at ASP.NET and I am having some difficulties. What I have below is a Registration and Login, both in one page. However, when a user is logged in, I would like the registration and login form to be hided. There is a LOGOUT option when the user is logged in.

And we have seen all these in a user registration form. But what if I want to add more fields to it. For example, take a look at this website, this registration page has a lot more fields for users to enter information: [URL] This regirtaion page has the information for Street Address, Suburb, Gender, DOB and lot more. How do I add these fields into my registration page. I have heard of something called profile. But how do I intergrate profile into this, if this is what we use to add more fields to user registraiton page. share a sample working code of user registrtion page with more fields.
I have table called ROLE with fields (id,name,permission) example values (1001,madhu,hr)
I have another table called LOGIN with fields(id,DOB,password) example values(1001,24101989,madhukumar)
What i want is , if i login using the LOGIN table ,it  check the  id and permission in the ROLE table , if the permission is 'hr' it enable to access the menu , or if the permission is any other it just print the error message ("no permission")
Note: menu is placed in master page , but login is not in the master page ...

i want to build a user registration page where a user can submit his firtname,lastname contact address telephone,email and upload a passport size picture with a specific file size and if bigger than the said image size it will not upload to the database and to be able to retrive back all information submited with the form including the passport size photograph and view them in a given page. I have been trying my hands on it but i could not get it work.

Now the problem is:
As this is registration form, I want server side validation of existing email id .If user entered email id already exist in DB I want to reopen the above modal dialog (automatically) with an error massage Email ID already exist.
I m not able to reopen that dialog box.

However we would like to avoid the users the annoyance of having of login twice when they pass from one .NET application to an ASP one, Is there any way to export the session data from one application to the other?

View 4 RepliesI want to create a user registration form, I used the CreateUserWizard control, and i intend to add more filed with the wizard interface, the fields were firstname,lastname, telephone all these with the textBox control and sex-male or female with a radioButton control, and upload photo with the FileUpload control.
After a successfull submit to the sql database, i should be able to retrieve all this informtion inluding the photo uploaded in another aspx page using any of the data control in y toolbox and resizein the photo to be 100/100 pixel size. pls could you write out the code (step by step details) to follow to implement all this in my asp.net 3.5 c# website. I have already created a table in my database, using userId as my ForeignKey.
Right now, I have all the employees of my company login to an external website using the company id, username and a password. We are trying to integrate it into an intranet portal which should provide seamless access to this website without requiring the user to enter these credentials.
Is there any way of doing this programmatically (.NET C#)? Very similar to screenscraping, Can I simulate the appropriate POST action and then redirect the user to the logged in page?

I am having a problem where when an logged in user types a url they can see the content of pages they're not suppose to. When the user tries to click on the screen or any ajax fires they are redirected to the main page. What is going on? I have all the items setup in the webconfig properly just wondering what is happening. Also I don't want to use a redirect solution for each page since that is what I thought webconfig was setup for.

View 4 RepliesCurrently I am using ASP.NET MVC and have home/index for logged out user which appears as "/" but this has got me confused as to how I can have "/" for a logged in user? I could modify like 127.0.0.1/home - but I want it like "/". My confusion relates to the fact that the "/" [127.0.0.1/] is bound in the routes collection to home/index. How can I have it so that "/" is shared for login/logout ?
View 1 RepliesI have a problem with using login controls form authentication ! as my website serves some pages for guest users(Anonymous user) and some pages are for only secure user(they must have to login for those requested pages)...... my problem is this that when i apply form authentication in web.config file to login control then visual studio directly shows only login page where i want that in general case only : guest user pages must be shown and if user clicks on login then after login the requested page he may open !

Username ID or
Email ID or
Phone number
---- either of one ,and match it with the password of the corresponding record in the user table.
The user table has following column:- U_ID(varchar),mail(varchar),Phone(Number),Password(Varchar)
The form has two textfields - 1. Username
2.Password
And a submit button. If combination is correct I should be redirected to the Index page.
But I don't have to scan through all the columns of the user table to match the password.
(a)If the user enters user_id say- ID 10012 then we should be able to search only the record in the user_id column as it has alphanumeric or varchar data type and match with corresponding password.
(b)If the user enters Email id we should be able to search through the email id column as email id contains "@ and ." sign.
(c)If the user enters phone number then we should search only the phone column as it has numeric datatype.
create a site with good security that validates, as website normally do, that the user has loged in. Im using sql server 2008 and VS2015. I've created a simple login form that validates users against a DB but i dont know how to preserve de session and validate that thought pages.

I have read many posts and have tried many solutions to this problem.
Simply enough, I can assign a role to a user programically during development, but when I publish to the 'web', the system doesn’t work. I am useing VWD 2008 in VB.Net.
I have been using permutations of : Roles.AddUserToRole("User.Name", "User").
Roles work throughout the site (per page/directory). Is there something I am missing?
I have designed a form using labels and textboxes and included validation but when opening in the IE ,proper alignment was not found???what to do??

However, I'd like to implement custom registration and login. I mean my own registration and login forms and my own database. I've researched before posting this topic, but found nothing useful teaching me how to implement those functions. Can you guys tell me the way to implement them using LINQ and VB? OR can you give me the URL of the tutorial teaches exactly what I want?
