I have a repeator control which is displaying the search results and it contains 50 Records.Paging is Enabled for the Repeator control and hence i am able to see 10 records at a time.
Now my requirement is :
When ever the user clicks the browser back button after going to the the Last set of records from the result set (41-50 records) in the Repeator Control, the Page is displaying the First set of Records(1-10).
Expected Result :
Page has to display the Previous result set (31-40) after clicking the browser back button.
I've googled a bit for the exact order of all gridview events relative to and where inbetween page events. The only Microsoft article: [URL] is not very clear. I'm especially interested in the gridview row_command event relative to page events.
I have a text box inside a update panel. With the onTextChanged events, I have a post back set in "True" to show the customer Name and email when I type in the customer ID in the text box. I want to have it show when we leave or Tab out of the text box. Now is working , but only afte I click the submit button. Does anyone know how to code the following in order to make it work right away when we Tab out of the text box.
I'm looking to use a gridview to create a basic search page for my website. On the page I have the following:
1.) A dropdown list with the search parameters 2.) Textbox where the user enters their search 3.) A Submit button.
In the submitclick, I want the gridview to display the contents of my database, but only the items that match what the user has entered into the textbox based on the parameter they chose from the dropdown list. I have the following code:
SqlConnection SearchConnection = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["LandRover"].ToString()); SqlCommand SearchCommand = new SqlCommand("SELECT * FROM ORDERLINE WHERE " + ddlSearch.SelectedValue.ToString() + " = @Search", SearchConnection); SearchCommand.Parameters.Add("@Search", SqlDbType.NVarChar).Value = txtSearch.Text; SearchConnection.Open(); SqlDataReader SearchReader = SearchCommand.ExecuteReader(); if (SearchReader.HasRows) { grvHistory.DataSource = SearchReader; grvHistory.Visible = true; grvHistory.DataBind(); }
I want to save data to a different table. My save is working fine but the challenge is that it saves empty cells as well.I will like to save only QTyDelivered cell with value. Any empty QTyDelivered cell should be ignored (which means the row of QTyDelivered cell that is empty will not be saved) .How can i achieve this?
I have a gridview bound to a sqldatasource with editing enabled. If I click Edit, then either Cancel or Update, the update or cancel occurs and the Edit button reappears. However, I cannot then click the browser's back button without having the Update and Cancel buttons reappear. A second click of the back button takes me to a state where the Edit button shows again, *then* another back button click will take me to the referring page (the one before the one with the gridview on it.) IOW, it looks like the postbacks are cached. How can I prevent this and have the back button go straight to the referring page?
i want to clear history of user page after they sign out from their page manipulations.I googled it and found some ways with cacheability, but it doesnt work fine.
I'm using 2 masterpages in my project. One master page is for login page and another one for the HomePage where user will go thro the options to reach other pages from home page..The thing is,i have "Logout" button in my home page. When i click on the logout button, the page will be redirected to "LoginPage.aspx". After redirecting to login page, when i click on browser back button, the previous page is displaying but it should not display to user since i'm doing sensitive transactions in all pages...
When we click our back button the page only returns to the previous state (un checking the check boxes one by one after each click). We would like it to go back to the previous page and remember the history of the page.

or is there any way to do with authentication and roles?
I wasn't sure where to post this type of question so here you go. The title says it all really I'm using the Microsoft.web.preview dll so that we can provide history support for the Ajax controls used in a .net 2.0 project. This works in IE6 but fails to function correctly in IE8 it appears to add additional history points when you attempt to navigate backwards through history.
Enter the page > Make a change using Ajax (add history point) > press back button you would expect to go back to initial page state but another two history points have been inserted between your initial page request and new your manually added history point. there is no where in the code that is adding these additional history points by accident. Remember it works perfectly under IE6. What are my options do I have to upgrade to 3.5 .net to make use of the history functionality built into the scriptmanager?
I have a asp.net page that has a list of items. When one of the items from the list is clicked a details page is displayed. This details page has a link button to show a popup for history of the item. The details page also has a button with text 'Back'. The back button has onclick event set to "javascript:window.history.back();".
This back button works fine and goes back to the first page. However when the user is on the second page and opens the pop up by clicking on the link button, the back button stop working and displays Webpage has expired message.
I am working on object data source and datagridview. I have given object data source to the grid view as the data source of grid. The issue which i m facing is that whenever i click on next page(like 2 or 3 or 1) it takes lot of time to fire. although it is fired but I have to wait a minute or two and then it fired.
Whenever I click any event(e.g. next page , page 5 ,3 or edit etc) of gridview it does not give response. If I wait for a minute then click one of event then it performs, and then again I have to wait to fire other event.
I'm currently facing an annoying problem that i can't seem to figure out. I have a gridview in my page, and i wanted to add a second header row to it. Well, i did that without any problems using the code below.
No problems so far. I then intended to add some filter to my gridview and so added a dropdown list in this second header i had created.
I simply added the control i previously had to my cell of the header.
[Code]....
The problem is that now, the SelectedValueChanged event is not firing when i change the value on my dropdown list. If i place her out of the gridview, the event fires normally, when placed inside the gridview the event apparently stops firing.
I have tried this with and without AutoPostback ON, though the final goal would be to have that option on OFF. (The postback would be caused by some other button on the same second header row, allowing the user to combine multiple filters simultaneosly)
I want to make sure I go about this in an efficient manner. I have a gridview. On the gridview, I have some columns that are read only values . These values go through calculations based on values in a database. The stored procedure takes information in the database, does some simply calculations (this value * that value / another value type of stuff) then returns a recordset as a datasource for the grid.
Other columns on the gridview have values the users can enter data. I want to be able to provide a recalculate button that will run calculations based on the entered values which will change the readonly values and then repopulate the gridview's read only values without going back to the database. This recalculate button is not the save to the database button. The save to the database button will take the values in the user entered columns and save them to the database. Then, the next time the grid is called, the page calls to the database and loads the grid.
So, what I'm looking to do is allows for recalculations on a gridview, a gridview with about 24 columns and about 1000 rows. My first thought is to create a class that reads the gridview and then applies the business rules, then updates the gridview some how. Or, maybe have a dataset table thats i read the value from the user inputs, then apply business rules and then bind the gridview to the dataset table. Do any of you have thoughts here, maybe have done something like this?
I've been reading up on the problems with dynamically created controls and how they have been solved. The posts I have come across are creating the controls in a panel or some other open place. I can't seem to get my checkbox to fire the event from inside a gridview. below is the code behind from inside the GridView PreRender event.
[Code]....
..And the Checked Event.. [Code]....
So after all this, nothing happens. I get the postback flash but my command inside the checked event doesn't fire.I tried putting the dynamic creation of the checkbox in Page Load with no effect.. I think because I can't place the checkbox inside the GridView under page load.
I have a user control called ucTriStateButton. It raises an event when it is clicked, called TriStateButtonClicked. If I put this user control on a page, it works fine. Here is the declaration on the .aspx page:
[Code]....
When the button is clicked the method tsbTest_TriStateButtonClicked executes correctly.
The problem is when I put the user control in template field of a GridView.
[Code]....
There is no way to hook the event handler to the control in Page_Load because I cannot get a reference to tsbMorning. So I did it in the RowDataBound event handler of the GridView, where I also do a bunch of other row-specific stuff. Although this builds and runs, the event is never actually subscribed to and so never gets fired.
So the question is - how can I handle an event from many instances of the same user control within a GridView? I am calling the same bit of code regardless of which user control is actually clicked. I only need to know that one was clicked.
i have asp.net chart control and gridview control in updatepanle my issue is when i click on edit link in gridview my chart control is not displaying but when i refresh my page iam to see it why is so??
I have a gridview that does a select statement against a sql database, there is not editing, inserting or deleting just the select statement. What I want to do is have the data in the gridview refresh upon either hitting the back button or the forward button.
If the back button is pressed it should give me yesterdays data from the table. If I hit the forward button it should give me tomorrows data, at the same time i want the forward button to be limited to going forward only 5 days from todays date.
I figure that I have to do this in a Updatepanel however I am unsure as to how to do this.
I need to pass the data from GridView1 to a DataTable, and then pass the DataTable to GridView2 and preview it. I have BoundFields and ImageFields in the GridViews. I think I am doing something wrong but I can't figure out how to do it. I know I have to iterate through the GridView.Rows, but I don't know how to pass it to the DataTable.
